Out between the cacti and ethereal boulders of the desert landscape, this Joshua Tree home is all about spending time beneath that endless sky. A turquoise rectangle of swimming pool shimmers like a mirage in wooden decking and it’s got an integrated hot tub for a soak beneath the stars. To the side of the house, a barbecue area is illuminated by stringed lights come nightfall, and covered in shade during the day. There’s a bocce ball court to while away the hours and a fire pit for the group to gather around after the sun sets. All of this to the backdrop of craggy desert mountains. Inside, it’s everything you expect for a Joshue Tree home – pristine white walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, raw wood tables and earthenware object d’art. The ink-black stove in the living room provides some respite from the cool desert nights, and there’s a wine fridge in the kitchen to save your Chardonnays from the noon sun. Speaking of the kitchen, this is a particularly eye-catching spot with a sleek breakfast bar providing plenty of prep space. In terms of location, you’re just a fifteen-minute drive from the West entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, where winding trails head through the desert landscape. A six-minute drive sees you in the heart of Joshua Tree town where mom and pop shops sell supplies and there’s a healthy crop of trendy coffee shops and saloon-style bars.
