Flavius is a beautiful flat in its own right, but it’s upstaged by the view. Separated from the Colosseum by just a few ruins, the vast windows surround the amphitheatre like a picture frame. And there’s the balcony, if you want to enjoy the fresh air at the same time as the view. The apartment is very new, and it feels impeccably kept. The kitchen, in particular, is very modern, and the rainfall shower was one of our favourite parts.

Home truths

There are lots of switches for the lights, curtains, and speakers – it can be a bit confusing

While there is a double sofa bed and a pull-out bed in the living room, we think the space would feel a bit small with more than four guests

It's not surprising – the amphitheatre casts a wide shadow across almost all of the district, not least for the heaving masses of tourists that collect at its heels all year round. Host

This home is managed by Antonio

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Antonio is understandably in love with the view from the apartment, and we’re lucky that he’s decided to share it with the world. He’s also an aficionado of contemporary design, which comes through in every part of the interior.
