The Birch Grove overlooks the rolling hills and meadows of the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Park where there are beautiful hiking trails and is up the road from the Kedron Valley stables where you can arrange horse drawn sleigh rides and carriage rides. The Nature Center is on the way to the Simon Pearce restaurant where you can observe glass blowing for his famous products. Anichini in Quechee offers elegant bedding from Italy, and is next to a big antique store loaded with a vast variety of china, rugs, quilts, paintings and more. In the opposite direction on route 4, observe pottery being made at Farmhouse Pottery.
Cynthia has roots and family in Vermont. She has traveled the world through her education and careers, and opted to retire in Woodstock with her partner, John. She enjoys the company of her dog and cats, and loves to cook, garden, and read. They own a lake house in northern Vermont which they also rent out and spend six weeks in the summer.
Woodstock is a quintessential New England village with antique homes and excellent restaurants. Guests come here to ski, hike, take cooking classes at King Arthur Flour, enjoy the spa or health club at the Woodstock Inn, visit art galleries, and relax in a rural, but sophisticated setting. The Ladies Home Journal once named Woodstock the prettiest small town in America.
