Hotel Review: Hotel Miramalfi, Italy

If you’re planning a trip to the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Italy, you have to consider staying at Hotel Miramalfi.

Located in the charming town of Amalfi, this hotel provides the perfect base for exploring the area and it also offers stunning sea views, a unique beach club and pool area, delicious food, and exceptional service.

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Miramalfi during our Amalfi Coast itinerary and loved every moment of it. Here’s a detailed review to help you decide if this hotel is the right choice for your stay.

Basic Information

Arriving at Hotel Miramalfi

We started our trip from Naples and took a scenic drive through the hills, followed by a short coastal drive to reach Hotel Miramalfi. The whole journey took about an hour and a half.

The hotel is located just off the main road, making it easily accessible. Although you can’t see it from the entrance, the hotel is built right into the cliffside, creating a unique and stunning setting.

Driving on the Amalfi Coast is not for the faint-hearted, so it was a huge relief to finally arrive at the hotel and be greeted by friendly staff.

The hotel provides free parking for all guests, which was a major plus for us as parking can be quite expensive in the area, not to mention that it’s hard to come by!

The lobby of the hotel is beautifully decorated and gives you a taste of the classic Italian style that runs throughout the property. I was so blown away by the design!

We were welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink and after a quick check-in process, one of the staff members showed us around the hotel and escorted us to our room.

Rooms & Suites

Hotel Miramalfi offers a variety of rooms and suites to cater to different types of travelers. All room types have balconies with stunning sea views, so you really can’t go wrong with any choice!

We stayed in one of the Sea View Suites and it was an absolute dream. We had a corner suite on the first floor (nr. 15), which gave us the most beautiful panoramic views of the coastline and sea.

The suite’s decor was a delightful blend of modern comfort and Mediterranean charm. On the right side of the entrance, we had a walk-in closet including a minibar, espresso machine, and an in-room safe.

On the left side, we had the bathroom – and not just any bathroom! Adorned with beautiful green and white tiles, the spacious bathroom featured a large soaking tub with a view of Amalfi, a separate rainshower, and a double vanity.

It was also equipped with high-quality toiletries, plush towels, and even a Dyson hairdryer!

The main area consisted of a living room with a cozy sofa, a coffee table, and a desk; and the bedroom area with a comfortable king-sized bed dressed in luxurious linens.

The suite also had air-conditioning, which was a lifesaver during the hot summer days.

But the best part of the suite was definitely the balcony, furnished with two sun loungers, a table with two chairs, and another table with a sofa.

This outdoor space provided panoramic views of Amalfi town and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, making it the perfect spot for a morning coffee or a sunset drink.

We spent hours just sitting outside, soaking in the stunning scenery! I mean, can you blame us?

Beach Club

One of the unique selling points of Hotel Miramalfi is its beach club. Situated directly below the hotel, it’s a private area reserved exclusively for hotel guests.

You can either take the stairs or use the elevator to reach the beach club. Once you reach the bottom, you’ll be blown away by the views! The club is situated on a platform built into the cliffside, with direct access to the crystal-clear sea.

The beach club offers sunbeds and umbrellas for guests to use, as well as a bar that serves drinks and light meals.

It also has a saltwater swimming pool with blue and white striped floaties, a perfect spot for a refreshing dip while enjoying the stunning views. And if you’re feeling more adventurous, you can even take the floaties out to the sea!

Spending an afternoon at the beach club was definitely a highlight of our stay. The combination of the breathtaking views and the exclusive atmosphere made it such a unique experience!

Fitness & Wellness

For those who like to stay active during their travels, Hotel Miramalfi has a well-equipped gym with modern machines. The gym offers stunning sea views, making your workout even more enjoyable!

If you’re looking to relax and rejuvenate, the hotel also has a massage room where you can book various treatments.

Dining at Hotel Miramalfi

Breakfast

Breakfast is included in your stay and it’s served at the hotel’s main restaurant, Donna Emma La Cucina. It’s a mix of buffet and a la carte options, with a wide selection of hot and cold dishes.

In the buffet section, you’ll find fresh fruits, cold cuts (you have to try the prosciutto!), cheeses, yogurts, cereals, fresh fruits, and veggies.

For the a la carte portion, you can choose from various egg dishes like omelets and eggs benedict, as well as pancakes and waffles. And of course, there’s plenty of Italian coffee to go around!

The breakfast is served on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace with gorgeous views of the sea, making it the perfect way to start your day.

What I loved most about the hotel is that you can also order breakfast in your room at no extra charge. So on one of the mornings, we decided to have breakfast on our balcony and it was such a memorable experience!

You have to fill out an order form the night before and choose your preferred time for breakfast to be delivered. It arrived promptly at our requested time, beautifully presented on a tray with fresh flowers. Definitely a luxurious touch!

The only thing you need to be aware of is the seagulls – they can be quite sneaky and will try to steal your food the moment you look away, so make sure not to leave your food unattended!

Donna Emma La Cucina Restaurant

Donna Emma La Cucina is also open for lunch or dinner, offering a fine dining experience with traditional Italian dishes using local and fresh ingredients.

We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was such a treat. As we wanted to try as many dishes as possible, we opted for the tasting menu. It consisted of 4 courses and each dish was absolutely delicious!

The service at the restaurant was impeccable and the staff were very knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. We also had a few glasses of wine from their extensive wine list, and they were all excellent.

The restaurant is open for dinner to both hotel and external guests, so it’s recommended to make a reservation if you want to dine there.

Besides the dinner, we also stopped by two times for lunch and the meals were just as delicious. We absolutely loved the pasta dishes and the catch of the day!

Also, the view during lunch time was simply incredible.

Mario’s Lounge Bar

Mario’s Lounge Bar is located next to the hotel lobby and it’s the perfect spot for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap.

They serve excellent cocktails, as well as a selection of local wines and beers. The bar also has an outdoor terrace with stunning sea views – you really can’t escape them at this hotel!

Azur Lounge Bar

If you want to enjoy a drink or some light lunch while soaking in the panoramic views, head over to Azur Lounge Bar.

This newly opened bar has a beautiful gazebo area with comfortable sofas and a bar inside. The decor is light and fresh, with pops of bright blue to match the stunning sea views. I absolutely loved all the greenery!

We only stopped by for a quick afternoon coffee but would love to come back for some drinks and sunset views on our next visit.

Transfer Service

One of the best things about staying at Hotel Miramalfi is its convenient location. The hotel is located a few minutes drive from the center of Amalfi and they provide transfer services to and from the town.

The transfer doesn’t have a fixed timetable, it rather operates on demand. All you need to do is let the hotel know via WhatsApp when you want to be picked up and they’ll arrange it for you.

Parking in Amalfi is such a nightmare so this service was a godsend for us! We used it every time we wanted to go into town and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the transfer.

Amalfi is a small but charming town, with narrow streets and colorful buildings. You can easily explore it on foot and discover hidden gems around every corner.

Make sure to visit the Duomo di Amalfi, a stunning cathedral with impressive architecture and history. And of course, no trip to Amalfi is complete without indulging in some gelato from one of the many gelaterias in town.

For a special treat, try the lemon sorbet served in a lemon shell – it’s so refreshing and the perfect treat on a hot day!

Amalfi also has great connections to other towns along the Amalfi Coast, such as Positano and Ravello. You can easily take a ferry or bus to explore more of this beautiful region.

Final Thoughts

Our stay at Hotel Miramalfi was nothing short of amazing. The combination of stunning views, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional service truly made it a memorable experience. Floating in the pool, enjoying a drink at the bar, and indulging in delicious food – it was the perfect getaway.
