Tips for Dining at the Best Restaurants in Naxos

To make sure you have the best experiences at these restaurants, here are a few top tips!

  • Many of the restaurants in Naxos don’t take reservations, so you won’t have to worry about booking in advance. However, some of the more popular eateries will offer advance bookings if you’re looking to secure a spot.
  • The Greeks typically eat meals much later than in other European countries, and many of the restaurant opening times reflect this. Generally, dinner is between 7 pm – 9 pm, so many places open later on instead of in the early afternoon.
  • Tipping isn’t obligatory in Naxos, although who doesn’t love a good tip? It’s highly appreciated by the staff and as it often won’t be included as a service charge, you’ll need to have some loose change on you.
  • Although tap water is generally safe to drink on the island, it doesn’t taste the best. For this reason, many establishments will only serve bottled water.
  • Like many other destinations in Greece, Naxos serves delicious wines. The Cyclades produce some of the best wines in the country, so make sure you have a glass (or a bottle) with your meal.
