This is where you’ll find many of Rome’s most famous landmarks and some of the best Instagram spots in Rome, including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori, and Largo di Torre Argentina.

If you’re short on time and want to see as much as possible on foot, this is hands down one of the best areas to stay in Rome. It’s especially ideal if you’re planning to spend only one day in Rome and want to be able to walk between sights without relying on public transport.

Centro Storico works well for first-time visitors, couples, families, and small groups who want a classic Rome experience. Beyond the major sights, the area is packed with restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops, so there’s always something happening, both during the day and in the evening.
