Tips for Visiting the Top Beaches in Paros
Before we dive into the top beaches in Paros, here are a couple of things you should know.
- When it comes to the best beach weather, you’ll want to visit Paros between June to September. This is when the temperatures are at their warmest, and the sea temperature is pleasant too. Many people choose to visit in May or October which is much quieter, but the waters will be chilly and this time of year isn’t great for sunbathing.
- The best way to explore Paros is by hiring a car or ATV, but public buses do run throughout the island. They won’t run to every beach on the island, but you won’t have to worry about reaching the most popular ones.
- Many of the beaches in Paros get very busy during the summer months (especially July and August). If you’re planning a full day of sunbathing then I’d recommend getting there early. This way you can secure a sun lounger and umbrella (depending on which beach you visit).
- Some of the beaches in Paros are great for nightlife with plenty of beachfront bars and tavernas. You may want to keep this in mind if you’re traveling as a family and visit one of the quieter beaches if you’re heading there in the evening.
Best Beaches in Paros You Can’t Miss
1. Kolympethres Beach
Highlights: Unique rock formations, pristine golden sands, crystal clear waters
How to get there: Public buses and small fishing boats run to Kolympethres Beach from Naoussa Port
Best time to visit: Early in the morning or sunset
Facilities: Beach bars, tavernas, watersports
Kolympetheres is one of the best beaches in Paros, and also one of the most popular. The beach is famous for its pristine golden sands and vivid turquoise waters, however, the highlight of this place has to be the rock formations.
Huge boulders of granite line the beach and the surrounding area, and you’ll honestly feel like you’ve stepped onto the moon.
Kolympetheres isn’t actually one beach but instead is made up of several small bays. If you’re lucky you might be able to grab a space on one of the smaller beaches between the coves.
With plenty of facilities, watersports, and beauty – Kolympetheres is one of the most-visited beaches in Paros.
If you’re looking to spend a full day here or at least a couple of hours, I would recommend heading there early to avoid the crowds. This way you can rent a sun lounger and umbrella, and enjoy the scenery before the crowds arrive.
2. Piperi Beach
Highlights: Scuba diving, swimming, the scenery
How to get there: Walk from Naoussa
Best time to visit: Early in the morning
Facilities: No beachfront facilities but you’ll find hotels, tavernas, and restaurants nearby
Piperi Beach is just a 10-minute walk from Naoussa at most so you’ll find plenty of fantastic facilities nearby including some of the best restaurants in Paros, various shops, and of course, the port.
However, as it’s so close to the town center it can get extremely crowded – especially during the summer months. Because of this, I’d recommend getting there early!
Although not as scenic as some of the other beaches in Paros, Piperi has a lot to offer. It’s perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving because of its clear waters, and you can even try your hand at fishing too.
Not only that, but it’s a popular spot for sunbathing so it offers something for everyone.
Although this beach is in a great location for families, it’s important to note that Peperi Beach does encounter strong winds from time to time. So if you’re taking the little ones out for a swim just be cautious of the wave conditions.
3. Agioi Anargyroi Beach
Highlights: Clean waters, quiet, shallow waters
How to get there: Walk from Naoussa
Best time to visit: Any time of day as Agioi Anargyroi doesn’t get as crowded as some of the other beaches in Paros

If you’re looking for the top beaches in Paros, then don’t miss out on this one! Agioi Anargyroi Beach is just a 14-minute walk from Naoussa so is easily accessible.
It’s great for families as the first couple of meters in the sea are extremely shallow, so you can take the little ones out for a swim without a worry.
As it’s so close to the village, you’ll also find plenty of restaurants and toilet facilities in the nearby hotels.
Although Agioi Anargyroi doesn’t boast the same scenic views as other beaches in Paros, it’s a great spot to visit if you’re staying in Naoussa.
It also tends to be quieter than other beaches on the island so is perfect if you’re looking for a more relaxed experience.
A limited amount of sun loungers and umbrellas can be found at Agioi Anargyroi so you’ll need to get there early if you want one!

Santa Maria has to be one of the best Paros beaches! If you’re looking for crystal clear waters, pristine golden sands, and stunning scenery, then this is the place you need to visit.
It’s actually divided into two separate beaches; Santa Maria and Mikri Santa Maria which is the smaller and quieter option.
Santa Maria is better for watersports and nightlife, while Mikri Santa Maria is perfect for a quiet day of sunbathing and relaxing. No matter which one you decide to head to, you’ll be in for a treat.
This spot will honestly take your breath away, so allow yourself a couple of hours here to relax and take it all in.
Whether you’re looking to sunbathe, dine at the beachfront tavernas, or try your hand at some watersports – there’s something for everyone.

However, if you’re traveling as a family with children or you’re looking for a relaxing spot – this isn’t the place you want to visit.
The crowds are intense, the music is super loud, and there will be plenty of drinking happening no matter what time of day you visit. Just keep this in mind before visiting!

It’s another of Paros’ Blue Flag certified beaches so is incredibly beautiful, and offers a more relaxed experience than the nearby Chrissi Akti Beach.
However, you can still get involved in plenty of watersports here including windsurfing. There is also a water sports center that provides training for all ages!
If you’re not up for watersports, why not have a go of beach volleyball which can also be found at New Golden beach. This is one of the best beaches on Paros, so make sure you check it out during your visit to the island.
12. Tsoukalia Beach

Tsoukalia Beach is located on the eastern coast of Paros and is a popular spot for kiteboarding. This is due to the stable winds that can be found here. However, this beach also has plenty more to offer.
As there is no public transport to Tsoukalia Beach and the road to it is pretty rough, you won’t find any crowds here. It’s also incredibly beautiful and consists of two natural coves, fine sand, and small white pebbles.
Although you won’t find any beachfront facilities, there are a couple of hotels and local tavernas within walking distance.
Tsoukalia Beach may not be one of the most popular beaches in Paros, but it’s a great option if you’re looking for a quiet, isolated spot. The scenery is also beautiful which is another bonus!

Kalogeros Beach is great for swimming and snorkeling, and you also won’t have to share it with hoards of tourists either as it’s relatively unfrequented.
However, the highlight of this place is its ‘healing’ clay! Break off a bit of the clay, mix it with seawater, and use it as a facemask whilst you relax with a book or sunbathe.
How cool is that? Not only do you get to visit one of the island’s most scenic beaches, but you get a free spa day too!

How to get there: Public buses run to Aliki village from Parikia or you can hire your own vehicle
Best time to visit: Anytime as this beach doesn’t get very busy

Aliki Beach is one of the lesser-visited beaches in Paros as it’s covered in pebbles, not soft golden sands. Because of this, you might even get this unspoiled paradise all to yourself which totally makes it worth the visit.
Although it may not be the comfiest of beaches to sunbathe on, it’s great for swimming and snorkeling as the water is shallow and clear.
You also won’t have to fight any crowds to get a nice spot here, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery in peace.
Aliki is also surrounded by Tamarix trees, so there is shade available throughout the day! You’ll also find a couple of tables beneath the trees which is the perfect spot for a picnic. The village of Aliki is home to two other beaches, so why not visit them too!
16. Xifara Beach
Highlights: Remote location, quiet, scenic
How to get there: You’ll need to hire a vehicle in order to reach Xifara Beach, unless you take public transport to Naoussa and then walk
Best time to visit: Anytime, as Xifara Beach is one of the quietest beaches in Paros
Facilities: There are no facilities at Xifara Beach
Xifara Beach is one of the lesser-known beaches on Paros, so is perfect for those after a more serene experience.
Hiring a vehicle or taking a taxi is the only convenient way to reach this remote beach, and the journey will take about 20 minutes if you’re staying in Parikia. However, you can always catch the bus to Naoussa, and it’s then a 30-minute walk from there.
You won’t find any facilities here, but you will be treated to an unspoiled paradise that you may even have to yourself!
The water conditions here are very calm which makes it perfect for swimming, or you can simply relax and sunbathe (but beware of the pebbles).
Just make sure you bring plenty of water, snacks, and an umbrella because you won’t find any shops in the area!
