Although there are many more gorgeous places to stay in Bali than just the ones on this list, we’ve personally stayed at each of these and highly recommend them for their photogenic qualities, top-notch service, and unbeatable views.

AYANA’s facilities are exceptional. With 12 pools to choose from, including tiered, river-inspired, and seafront infinity pools, there’s no shortage of options for a relaxing swim or a picture-perfect moment. The seafront pools, in particular, are as beautiful as they are serene.
The resort also features an award-winning spa, two gyms, an incredible selection of dining venues, and the iconic Rock Bar, set on a cliff edge and perfect for sunset lovers.

Nestled in the jungle and surrounded by vibrant rice terraces in Selat, Magic Hills feels like a remote retreat, even though it’s less than 20 minutes from the slightly more popular Sidemen area.
If you’re looking for the best bamboo houses in Bali, then this is the place for you! Magic Hills Bali currently has seven bamboo villas, all of which are entirely handmade and built with sustainable materials.
We got to check out three villas during our visit, which included the three-story Princess House as well as the Angel and Queen Houses, both of which are set over two floors.
These villas are located right next to each other and each has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pool, and the likes of hammocks and hanging chairs.
Depending on which villa you choose, you’ll find a mix of open- and closed-concept bedrooms and bathrooms, plush bedding, handcrafted furniture, and outdoor space for those all-important Insta snaps.
You can also request some additional experiences, such as flower baths and floating breakfasts, to make your stay even more memorable.
3. Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort
If you’re looking to explore the unspoiled northern regions of Bali while still enjoying a luxurious hotel experience, Munduk Moding Plantation Nature Resort is a must-add to your list.

Eastern Bali is known for its relaxed vibe and fewer tourists, and Wapa di Ume Sidemen captures that perfectly. As one of the most Instagrammable hotels in Bali, it’s also a fantastic base for exploring the region’s culture and natural beauty.
Located in the village of Sidemen, the resort is just over an hour and a half from the airport and within an hour’s drive of iconic spots like Heaven’s Gate at Pura Lempuyang Temple and Tirta Gangga Water Palace.
With only 21 rooms, Wapa di Ume Sidemen offers a peaceful and intimate escape surrounded by the lush greenery of East Bali. For a truly luxurious experience, I recommend staying in one of the five One Bedroom Pool Villas, which come with a private pool and outdoor living area.
If epic pools are on your wishlist, Wapa di Ume Sidemen won’t disappoint. Its two-level infinity pool is a dream for both swimming and snapping photos – you honestly can’t take a bad one here!
The onsite restaurant is another highlight, serving a mix of traditional Balinese and international dishes. It’s open to non-guests too, so even if you’re not staying at the resort, it’s worth stopping by for a meal.
Don’t miss the chance to try the signature massage at Kapha Spa, and I suggest combining it with a flower bath for the ultimate relaxation.

The resort also offers fantastic facilities, including a spacious main pool, a secluded infinity pool, multiple dining options ranging from casual to fine dining, and the serene Forest Spa. After your spa treatment, don’t forget to stop by the swinging jungle bed for some incredible photos.
What makes Kamandalu Ubud truly one of the most unique hotels in Bali are the special experiences available during your stay. You can enjoy a floating breakfast in your private pool, have a picnic lunch in the rice fields, or dine on a small yellow boat floating through a koi-filled lagoon.

If you’re staying in one of the pool villas, you’ll also have the opportunity to request a flower pool in your private pool. The staff will fill your private pool with fresh flowers and petals so you can enjoy the ultimate romantic experience.
You can either let the staff surprise you with the design or request a specific one, which is especially perfect for special occasions like honeymoons or anniversaries.

8. Camaya Bali
Camaya Bali is my personal favorite among the island’s incredible bamboo houses, offering a truly secluded escape that feels like no other.
Located in Selat, about 20 minutes from Sidemen and an hour and a half from Ubud, Camaya is tucked away in one of Bali’s most private and tranquil areas. The focus here is on solitude and relaxation, with the only shared space being the restaurant. Of course, if you’d rather enjoy your meals in your room, room service is also available.
Camaya features six uniquely designed bamboo houses, most with two bedrooms, making them ideal for couples or families. Each house is distinct, with special features like hanging nets, private jacuzzis, and outdoor showers, ensuring a one-of-a-kind experience no matter which one you choose.
We stayed in the two-bedroom Pyramid house, where we had the choice between sleeping in the pyramid-shaped main building or the cozy outdoor dome.
Our villa also had a private outdoor hot tub that could be filled with flower petals upon request for the ultimate romantic experience. Chilling on the hanging nets and sipping on a fresh coconut while taking in the stunning views was also a highlight of our stay.
9. Stone House Bali
Stone House Bali is one of the coolest hotels in Bali, offering picture-perfect bamboo houses within easy reach of the lively Ubud area.
Located less than a 10-minute drive from Ubud, it’s the ideal choice for those who want the charm of a bamboo house experience without straying too far from the center of the town.
Surrounded by towering green trees, the property features a serene pool area and an onsite restaurant serving delicious Indonesian dishes, all designed to blend seamlessly with the local culture and landscape.
Stone House offers several room styles, but if you’re after an Instagram-worthy bamboo house, the Treehouse villa is the one to book. We absolutely loved the open-air design, the netted lounge area, the copper tub, and the cozy round-shaped bed. It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
The breakfast delivered to our room every morning was absolutely fantastic and you can also ask for your tub to be filled with colorful petals if you want to level up your Instagram game or just enjoy a relaxing soak.
10. Anantara Uluwatu
No list of unique hotels in Bali would be complete without mentioning the stunning Anantara Uluwatu, a cliffside resort in the popular southern area of Uluwatu.
Located about an hour south of Ngurah Rai International Airport, the resort offers an exclusive coastal setting while being just minutes away from Uluwatu’s shops, bars, and restaurants.
Unlike many of the traditional-inspired Balinese hotels, Anantara Uluwatu is all about sleek, modern luxury, but it’s every bit as beautiful.
The hotel’s tiered outdoor swimming pool makes the most of its cliffside location, offering incredible sunset views. You can also soak in the breathtaking scenery from the oceanfront restaurants or the onsite spa.
Anantara offers a wide range of accommodations, from stylish suites to expansive three-bedroom villas complete with infinity pools and deep-soak tubs. Many of the ocean-inspired rooms come with added perks, such as complimentary poolside snacks and free shuttles to the beach.
11. Sumberkima Hill Retreat
Western Bali remains one of the island’s most untouched regions, and Sumberkima Hill Retreat is the perfect place to experience its serene beauty.
The closest town that’s commonly known amongst tourists is Lovina, but even this is over an hour away from the resort. What you’re left with are remote jungles, mountains, and the sea, all of which are undiscovered by most visitors to Bali.
The retreat features three magical restaurants, each offering breathtaking views and unique vantage points for capturing stunning photos. The yoga studio, shared pool, and spa also provide incredible scenery that rivals even the dining areas.
There’s no shortage of accommodation options at Sumberkima Hill Retreat. From peaceful garden suites to two-bedroom villas with infinity pools and larger traditional properties that can host up to 11 guests, there’s something for everyone.
During our stay, we enjoyed Villa Bali Mynah, a two-bedroom villa with a round outdoor pool and a top-floor gazebo, and Villa Naga, a spacious three-bedroom villa with a stunning infinity pool. Both offered incredible views and a relaxing, private atmosphere.
